How to Use This Website PDF Print E-mail
Welcome to CraftNet Global!  We hope you will enjoy accessing and exploring our new website’s key online features, including:  1) A modular curriculum tool designed to help guide artists as they establish a business website; 2) Online galleries displaying student and faculty creative work from our member colleges; and 3) Regular news updates about CraftNet’s collaborative projects as well as timely bulletins about related activities ongoing at the schools.

This website is currently in its public beta release.  Its most fully realized feature is the Ecommerce for Artists curriculum, which brings to fruition a year-long, collaborative research and development effort among several of our colleges.  You can view this new curriculum tool online or download a PDF copy free-of-charge from the menu bar at the top of our homepage.

In fact, you have a choice whether to download the individual modules or the entire curriculum.  We expect that instructors at post-secondary schools, arts organizations, and cooperative extension agencies may want to integrate sections of this new curriculum into their existing courses of study about arts-based entrepreneurship.

You also may enjoy looking at the galleries of student and faculty creative work.  Right now, however, only a few of our member schools are fully represented.  That’s the case in part because we are creating this site collaboratively, granting each school the ability to update its galleries autonomously.  So what you see at this time is really the template showcasing the site’s possibilities to our larger membership.  As more schools organize and post their work, we expect the site to become more and more interesting to visitors.

A quick note about the creative work that you see displayed in these galleries:  If you are interested in learning more about the work of a particular student or faculty member—or you wish to purchase a specific piece offered for sale—please contact the student or faculty member directly via the information provided on his or her gallery page.

Our CraftNet website is intended to serve purely educational purposes.  All sales and terms for product delivery must be negotiated directly with the student, faculty member, or a third-party vendor named by the artist.  CraftNet and its sponsor, Regional Technology Strategies, Inc., conduct no sales transactions of any kind from this website, claim neither commission nor monetary value from any sales transactions that might take place privately, and assume neither responsibility nor liability for those transactions or product order fulfillments arising from sales inspired by work viewed on this website.

In many ways, this website offers the CraftNet network the capacity to explore and model many of the principles of online entrepreneurship that are set forth in the Ecommerce for Artists curriculum.  In that sense, it is very much a work-in-progress, as all of our schools and organizations embrace their own individual learning curves about how to make best use of the Internet.  Along that journey, we will introduce new features and new ideas to this website.  For example, if it becomes financially feasible, we’d like to introduce a forum so that you can share news of your own journey toward becoming a fully fledged and wildly successful artrepreneur!

As we grow, we invite you to grow along with us.  Take a moment to sign up for our quarterly newsletter, CraftNet Sketches.  It’s free—and it will inspire you to come back to take another look at our shared progress.
