Professional Arts Training in a World-Class Creative Community

prepairing the galleryLocated in one of the singular creative communities in the United States, Santa Fe Community College (SFCC) provides educational and career opportunities for the area’s diverse student population.

SFCC offers comprehensive programs in diverse creative disci-plines and professional career tracks. These include painting, drawing, printmaking, book arts, photography, ceramics, jewelry, sculpture, web design, graphic design, typography, video, filmmaking, media arts, fine woodworking, architectural drafting, interior design, fashion design, culinary arts and the tradi-tional Spanish arts of Santero carving and New Mexican tin-work. A gallery management degree program also allows stu-dents to enter the professional environments of commercial galleries and museum studies.

The college environment prepares students to enter and suc-ceed in the career path of their choice. Through partnerships with local businesses, artists, galleries and designers, students have the ability to move directly from the educational environment into professional employment opportunities.

The full-time faculty are working professionals in their field and are complemented by the input of successful designers, artists, and gallery professionals made possible by the proximity of the third largest art market in the United States. Students also enjoy the supportive environment of a concentrated student-to-faculty ratio. The classroom academic environment is augmented by fieldtrips and extracurricu-lar study opportunities. Academic degrees and certificates are available in all media, as well as articulated transfer to many prestigious four-year schools.
